Spirit of Heart and Soul honors the quiet do’ers. You know the ones, they’re your friendly neighbor who always goes above and beyond for you and those in our community. You may not see them on social media sharing their latest good deed, but you see their faces out there, giving back time after time for the betterment of their community. They don’t do it for the spotlight or the praise; they do it because they care about the people and future of Arlington. You might not see their names on a building or see any streets being named after them, yet they are the ones who show up when the call to action is needed.
These are the individuals that embrace who Arlington Heart & Soul is. To honor them we’ve partnered with Hurdwell’s Wall of Honor to recognize two individuals annually, one a current volunteer and one who is no longer with us, for their contributions.
Our inaugural inductees are Junior Weihrauch and Tom Kroske. Tom Kroske has been selected as the posthumous award recipient for his many years of service (and laughs) to the community. The current volunteer is a name many of you know well, none other than the former town barber, band assistant, and parade-directing man himself, Junior Weihrauch.
Both honorees will have their names added to the Hurdwell Wall with a special Heart and Soul emblem to denote their award.
